    It's a Snowglobe

Someone in this group made a quilt with snowglobes and I thought it was fantastic. I do not know what size hers are but mine is 7 1/2 inches across. I have not even appliqued the base down yet, but had to stop and take a picture. I used a cake plate for the circle, and drew on graph paper the shape for the base. It is not perfect, but I am thrilled!

What a sweet idea for a block.

It's beautiful and I can see why you're happy with it. I think I may just copy you. Is the trick of making it look like a globe having the globe fabric background to be white?

tubsfam, yes you can copy me if you would like. If you will send me a private message with your email address, I can scan the templates and send them to you.

DebbieB, for me the main thing is some type of Christmas fabric that fits in the space of the circle, and a bit of brown for the "wooden" base. The background in this one is a beige with little scrolls that might make a person think of snow. I've started another block that has a medium blue with snowflakes for the background.

Love this idea! It would be fun to collect snow fabric for one...snowmen, snowy cottages, etc. Thanks for sharing.
