It's Writen in the Stars

Thanks for sharing these designs with us, Janet. I think this collection would have been very well received by many quilters. It's a shame that they weren't picked up by P&B. I think sometimes as quilters we forget all the work and perseverance that goes on behind the scenes before the fabric ever hits the shelves. I was chatting with another textile artist (Sue Zipkin) who recently "friended" me on Facebook. She designs fabric for Clothworks Textiles and has quite a few wonderful lines coming out on the market within the next few months. She was explaining to me that she also has many designs that never see the light of day and that it is a very challenging industry these days. She also designs dinnerware, scrapbook items, stationery, home decor items, etc. and has been very successful as an artist/designer for over two decades but still has to "audition" her designs each season to get her artwork on the market. I admire artists like you and Sue very much. Don't give up, please! You are very talented and your work will be picked up again when you least expect it :)
