Jennifer's Wedding Quilt
#33
Thanks everyone for the wonderful words! It’s been a rough last month and your kindness lifts my spirits. Yes, I did all of it myself, including the quilting. I’ve only just started to learn FMQ and I’m amazed at how I can really see the progress with each quilt I finish. It was my first attempt at doing feathers with machine quilting instead of hand quilting. Sure went a lot faster! I don’t normally make the same pattern twice but on this one I think I’d like to make another. I have a lot of smaller scraps and I may make the units smaller, which will increase the number of diamonds it creates. The fun part with this quilt is that it does NOT rely on color. You create the pattern by the value of the fabric; light, medium, or dark. The only rule I used was that I didn’t use any black fabrics. There are a couple of grays but no black.
Here is the pattern, for those who are interested. It’s a free online pattern called Buckeye Beauty. It’s at http://ep.yimg.com/ip/I/henscratchingquilt_2053_4818175
For those applying, yes, you can be my sister. My birthday is in August. ;) ...
God bless you!! My icon photo is actually about ten years old & twenty pounds lighter. ;) I have to say, I love my son-in-law and my grandson (and another on the way) and I are best buds. I love being a grandma!!!
I usually have at least 3+ projects going on at any time. My problem isn’t starting them, it’s finishing them. 81 UFOs and counting.

Now I have a ton of medium value 2.5" squares for another project. Lol. It's machine quilted.
On the left is my son-in-law, and you'll notice that he's not quite tall enough to hold up the quilt. Lol. My hubby is peeking out the right side.
