    Default Jewel Box

This was a UFO from a few years back, and got it all finished up today. DH likes the back better than the front because of how the contrasting thread shows. Glad to have another one crossed of my UFO list!

The quilting looks fantastic. Way to take a simple method and really make it sing with the execution.

Two looks for the price of one. The back stitching is pretty too but I like the front. I will always think of my sister, when I see reds, as this was her favorite color. Good job!

Your quilt inspired me to go searching for a free pattern and I stumbled across an old Eleanore Burns, Quilt in a Day tutorial for this quilt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf1e98FlB6c Yes, and she was tossing the small scraps over her shoulder! It you watch to the end she shows some techniques using different sizes for the HSTs and four patches, as well as different backgrounds colors. Got a short history lesson on the different names for this pattern over time. Very simple and very interesting.

And LAF2019, sure do like all of your reds tucked together in one red and white creation.

Nice work. I also find using thread that actually shows up on the back is better for me than matching thread to the backing fabric. I want the back to look as beautiful as the front so the recipent can choose which side they want to show on their bed.

Just my opinion as I'm told that's not the norm.

Again great work and I also love how the back looks.

Beautiful from both sides. Isn't a good feeling to get another UFO out from the closet into use.?!
