Way to go! You have become part of the chain of quilters throughout generations past and those of the future. I believe you could feel the connection while hand-quilting this lovely quilt. Am I correct? I think I know 'cause I have collected antique and vintage tops and quilts over the years and love the experience of participating in the journey.

What a treasure! Quilting can tie the generations together.

I know how you felt when you were working on your Grandma's quilt. My Mom gave me Sunbonnet Sue blocks that Grandma had made over 80 years ago. She was going to make a quilt for my Mom, but it didn't get finised. I finished the project and gave it back to my Mom, lots of tears that day. I thought about my Grandma throughout the whole process, I felt like I was visiting her one last time.

Absolutely beautiful! What a nice thing to do to send it to your aunt. It would have been difficult for me to give it up.

Beautiful quilt and story. Grandma is smiling down on you and felt your warmth throughout the quilting process!

Great family heirloom! I'm glad you got it and got to finish it for your dear grandma. Treasure it forever!

This brings tears to my eyes. Your aunt must have been so delighted and honored to have this beautiful quilt from her mom. You were so thoughtful to give this back to her to enjoy.
