Default Judi Martin Log Cabin variation pattern

Since i have 2 weeks off for winter break, I wanted to finally tackle a quilt for me. I have this extra green fabric from a project that didn't get used, and this is the project i decided to tackle. I have sorely underestimated the time to finish this....I have finished 5 blocks. Each block has about 75 pieces in it. This is a variation of a log cabin quilt and the finished logs are 1 inch wide.

It will be handquilted and i have no idea how - but it's pretty, and definitely the most involved pattern i've ever made - I also didn't realize how hard it is to sew a precisely straight line! LOL!!

I am getting the hang of that!

I absolutely adore this pattern from Judy Martin's book and I like your green presentation. Quick quilts are great for sure, but, we grow through the challenges. I would like to do this quilt but I recognize that it is very time intensive-I have started! I have sorted scraps into bags by color. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

Your quilt is going to be fantastic! Love the greens and white. I've also found that when sewing small strips it is hard to keep them straight. The result will be worth the effort!

That's going to be a great quilt. I love how your greens are so close in value. That gives a wonderful texture to your quilt. Very nice.

Yesterday I was looking at one of her book, thinking I would try one of her patterns. I bet, as you say " the most involved pattern i've ever made - I also didn't realize how hard it is to sew a precisely straight line! LOL!"

I am also amazed how beautiful your blocks are, specially because I usually do not like the color "green" but I love what you did, color included!
