Wink Why I got a new sewing machine

I just hauled this out and tried to "fix" a couple things. I had White's Sewing maching and I hated it. It did everything to prevent me from sewing and made things look horrible. So I bought a Janome 2011 (I have not seen anyone on the board that uses this particular modeld) I feel in love with it and now have to learn to sew correctly. I just liked this particular item I pieced but did all the wrong choices in material, etc. It would just be too tough to take it all apart and start over. Will try to show I can do better. The good news I sold my old machine on Ebay and a gal got it and loves it.

I would change your border to a flowered one and I think it will look OK. Don't be so hard on yourself.

So glad you found a machine you love. IT makes a huge difference when you don't have to fight with your machine! Your piecing looks great and I like what Homespun said about changing up the border. If you change it, post a new pic. Would love to see it.

I think it looks great. Great matching seems and the border has all the colors in the blocks. A quilt should represent the maker (or the new owner if known). So since you picked this I'd keep it; looks great. No quilt police around here.

Yes, Yes and more Yes, totally agree on finding a machine you are comfortable with and doesn't give u fits every time you sit down to sew. It can be so discouraging. I think you did a great job on the quilt you shared.

So happy you solved your problem by buying a new machine! Your quilt is pretty with the floral prints. The border catches all your colors. I bet you will really enjoy your quilt more once your get it quilted! I am always amazed at the difference quilting makes in a quilt top!
