While visiting my grandma today, I came across some of her older quilts. She has Alzheimers and now doesn't remember what she did with most of them or the rest of her quilt tops. So, over the next few days, I'll post more pics of them...just as soon as we find them. LOL. A few of the pictures aren't top quality but I think you can still see the quilt. The owl quilt is embroidered but I'm not quite sure with what type of thread. Some of it seems to be yarn and then other seems to be some type of string, it doesn't look like embroidery thread.

They're beautiful :P , there is nothing more special than having something that's been made by a person who is significant in your life. I really hope you find the rest of them.

If Shelly hadn't shown us her grandma's quilts I probably wouldn't have thought of it but now I'm putting together a small album with pictures of the old quilts for posterity. (and insurance)
Heather I love the quilts, make notes of anything she can remember about them for future generations.

Those are beautiful Heather! I've never seen anything like the first one you showed. That's really a neat pattern! And I can hardly believe how much work she must have put into the owl quilt. Gorgeous! You're lucky to have these, for so many reasons. :)

I like the rope-like pattern on the fan quilt from the red edging. The owls are fun, too. Thanks for sharing.
