Your quilt is beautiful. Love the colors in the quilt but not sure your backing fabric goes with it.

When I first started quilting, a fabric shop gave me a little plastic measurement card for backings. It reads as follows:

Twin lining 5 1/4 Yds. 2 1/2" binding 3/4 Yd
63 X 87
Double 5 1/4 Yds 2 1/2" binding 3/4 Yd
78 X 87
Queen 7 1/2 Yds 2 1/2" binding 7/8 Yd
84 X 92
King 8 yards 2 1/2" binding 1 Yd
100 X 92
Your Rail Fence is beautiful---Love the colors!

I love your backing fabric choice because I always try for 2 different "looks" when making a bed quilt to change up the look of the room or mood. You have done an awesome job! Sigh, another on my bucket list I haven't done yet.:-)

I Luv the rail fence pattern. That was my first quilt project. You did a super job. Sorry though, can't help on suggestions for backing. :-)

Also...help me here, the top measures 61 X 72 so how many yards do I need for the backing.
this was my first fancy quilt too. I use plain muslin and it ocmes in nice wide widths. I like using it as it does not distract from the colors on the quilt. the one you have here does not match up well with the front. great work on the top... :)

ok that pic shows better, but for me is too busy, but if you like that type of backing, go for it. I still prefer muslin...giggle..
