This is my first quilt, and I designed it using scrappy blocks. (Note to Self: Don't design a first quilt. Follow someone else's instructions.) This is quilted with the Cotton Theory method. I made every mistake possible, but I did enjoy the entire process.

This is a gift for a relative in his school colors (Florida Gators). It is approximately 52" x 52", big enough to make a nice ground cover for those tailgate parties at The Swamp.

Back of the quilt. I pieced it with scraps, too.

MomtoBostons, You did great for your first quilt. Don't tell anyone & they won't know either. I like the orange stitching. Did it save time? Thanks for showing us & hope your relative loves his quilt.

I worked on Univ of Ala items for wedding gift today & Fla & Ala are rivals, but I like all the quilts no matter which school they go to. What will it matter 100 yrs from now where any of us attended. The important thing is that we went to college if we had the chance. Go players!

Sheila Elaine, How funny to hear you have been working on UA wedding gifts today. I am a hard core Crimson Tide fan (the photo in my avatar shows my Alabama jersey). All my relatives live in Gainesville, Fla. and are Gators. You know we have LOTS of rivalry in our family! I am going to wait until I can quilt a lot better and THEN I'll make a Bama quilt for me. TeeHee!

That's a first quilt? And you designed it yourself? You obviously have a lot of talent. I really love it.
