I make shams all the time. You need to know the size of the pillows they will go on. With your quilt pattern you could put some of those branchy things randomly centered with the "leaves" on the sham and make a border going around with the strips on the border of your quilt. Add piping. Buttons are a good idea for closing or a zipper. Beautiful quilt BTW. Good luck

I saved that pattern and I have bought my fabric. I have procratinated starting it. I have only done a little applique, so that is the part that scares me. Yours is beautiful. Did you find the applique challenging? How much experience do you have with applique? Any hints and suggestions you would want to pass on? Would you make this pattern again? Again, your quilt is just stunning.
