I just finished a king sized quilt for my brother's wedding. I had them pick a pattern and the material. With them picking the pattern and material I can be sure that they will use it. I started it Memorial Day weekend and finished today. I have 2 shams to do also, but they may not get them for the wedding (July 30). Now if I can just figure out how to post the picture too.

Pattern is from American Patchwork & Quilting, June 2011 issue 110.

I really like that - the colors make the design. Great job!

Go to some stores and find a design you like and make yours the same. It's easy to do, just a lot of different ways you can do them.

Shams are easy, have made a few, especially if you do the foldover back without buttons. I used a McCall's pattern and found the instructions very helpful as to the cutting size. If you are going to decorate or use a quilt pattern to embellish the shams, take your time in sewing them. I think the easiest is to make a binding of the various fabrics and do the outer edges of the sham. Just an idea.

I know how to make the shams, it is just having time to do them. I am going to put vines and leaves on them to match the quilt.

Lovely quilt. Thanks for posting the picture. I have that one bookmarked in the magazine. It's nice to see it done other than in the book.

Pillow cases are easier than shams and look just as nice, IMO.
