It is a beautiful quilt! I spent two nights with my 19-yr-old daughter recently. She has a "kitty" quilt that my Mother made for her when she was much younger, maybe 7 or 8. It has a kitty block in the middle of the log cabin blocks. It is large enough for her queen-sized bed, and she rolls up in it at night and sleeps so well! Her Grandmother, who died in 2002, would be so honored and proud!

That is what I think quilting is all about. Quilt shows and being honored is okay, but your story about a much loved quilt, made years ago and now your daughter wraps herself in the quilt her Grandmother made for her, is I believe the essence of 'why' I make quilts. When I'm constructing a quilt for someone special from the planning to completion my thoughts are always about the person who it is being made for. I too hope one day my loved ones will remember me and be wrapped in the love of those quilts I made 'just' for them.
Thank-you for posting this it has made my day!
