Lap quilt for a very good friend
Normally I am not a fast quilter: can't decide on a pattern and can't just pick fabrics and run with it and then, since I hand quilt, that adds time. Recently a friend did me a huge favor and helped me a lot when I needed it.
She is downsizing and I knew I had to limit what I could give her as a gift so a Sudoku quilt from fat quarters I had was a perfect solution.
I did it in record time, hand quilted it quickly and managed to give it to her this weekend when she was visiting, and in time for her birthday!
The piecing was pretty well-done (nice points mostly), but the quilting is not my most consistently done work. Still she was tickled and I think will get lots of use from it in her small apartment. Each fabric had it's own quilting pattern which you can't really see except in the whitish one with concentric circles.
Here is Susie holding it in my front yard.

Oh wow this is wonderful! And the colors are so soothing. What a beautiful gift and I can't believe you hand quilted the whole thing... that must be an amazing feeling to wrap yourself in stitches that were done for you, by a great friend.
