Finally finished the two lap quilts, one for my sister and for one of my daughters. I love the bargellos. But I wish I had started the blue one differently so that the blue would have been two full bands, instead of the grey and black being the full bands. Oh well, live and learn - it was my learning curve. LOL. I think they are ok. Just need to make the labels - I have been using something from one of my CDs that is a rocking chair with a quilt thrown over it, and then I put their names, my name and the date. Makes a cute label for a quilt.

I can't see where you would improve either of them.
I like them both, but am more liking the blue one.
Nice job on them, seems to me they are the right
size pattern for a lap robe. Nice pattern so that you
can enlarge or shrink parts to match whatever you
want to make, from King size to cup rug.

You did a very nice job and I'm sure your recipients will love them. Just a thought on figuring the colors.... I almost always draw a pattern on graph paper and copy it a couple of times so that I can play with colored pencils and figure out where I want things to go before I start sewing. I guess I just really like graph paper and coloring in the lines! (Though I do think outside the box too.) If something doesn't work for you - you can always start over without spending time with the ripper.
