That's one of those that is more about blending than contrast I think... and you've hit the nail right on the head.

Very pretty. Maybe an inner border to frame the wolves. I think it would make them stand out. I was just using the same fabric last night for an octagon table topper.

Love the wolf print in the center but the borders seem to distract it for me.Can you arrange the blocks to make a pattern?

Given the particular panel you're using, I think your border and blocks are just perfect. Any more contrast would detract IMO.
