I seem to be doing more piecing than actual quilting  The first picture is one that the gals in my group decided they would like to learn to make as our annual charity quilt. We had quite the time yesterday with everyone bringing 4 inch squares, all of us around a big table matching them up.

Both of them are very, very nice. I'd love to top quilt the second one, if only I had enough practice under my belt.

Those are wonderful!! I especially like the second one, very clean and crisp. The first one is great too!! Looks like a lot of work, but a lot of fun in there too!

The first one is called inner city, a quilt I saw many years ago and tried to make, but somehow just couldn't get things to fit right. I set it aside thinking that maybe with a little more experience under my belt I might be able to figure out what I was doing wrong. About a year ago I tried again and this time I made my own pattern instead of using one in a magazine and it turned out much better.
The other one is an ocean waves arrangement that I found in an old (1984) Quilter's Newsletter magazine. Since it's king sized I'm seriously thinking about sending it out to be quilted. The one I'm working on now is a queen and it's taking me forever to finish.
