Late Christmas and wedding gifts - Green Links Table Runners
#16
The original quilt pattern is called Island Chain and it can be found in the book Scrap-Basket Sensations by Kim Brackett.

I only wanted a table runner and didn't want all the little pieces, so I reconfigured it for a table runner. I couldn't find my way of cutting and piecing the linking chain anywhere on the internet. You can easily make the chain using Kim's pattern by using the outside border part. The quilt is much more complex than this runner and that's why she uses smaller pieces. Her method is probably much quicker than mine. I probably spent the most time on my quilt knotting and burying threads from the quilting.
I used two packs of Robin's Egg 40" x 2 1/2" strips to make 7 of these (the last one was more scrappy because the leftovers were being used). I LOVE Stonehenge fabrics!
