    Latest work in progress

Hello all I haven't posted anything for a while, though I have been admiring everyone's wonderful projects.
This is a Storm at sea I am making for my DGD's 10th birthday coming up in July. I found the layout on the internet, printed it off and coloured it. I plan to embroider sayings and pictures in the larger squares, eg "wish upon a star" "happiness is just a smile away" ........ and similar. I hope that's appropriate.
I am a bit concerned the quilt may end up a little too pretty; what do you think?

Photos are what I have made so far, and my coloured pencil plan (I haven't stitched the rows together yet) Hope the photos work.

I've wanted to make one for years, but all those pieces.

I don't normally gravitate toward this quilt pattern as I considered it "Too Busy", but done in the colors you have chosen it is very pretty.
