Oh, I've never seen this pattern before! Really cute. Can't wait to see it finished.

I love this quilt and I love cats.....always have as far back as I can remember. Just lost my big black cat, Licorice, a couple of weeks ago. Massive tumors in lower belly and chest cavity, took him to vet as he was having trouble breathing. No sign of problems before that. Vet said the humane thing to do was to let him go....both husband and I are still heart broken and missing him.

I have loved cats my whole life too. I got my first kitten when I was eight, but my mom was terribly allergic (asthma) and we had to give it back within days. I was heartbroken. I'll never forget my dad saying, "Either the kitten goes, or mom goes," and I took a moment to consider my options. Hmmm . . . kitty--mommy . . . which should I choose. (I was only eight, after all.) We ended up with dogs, but I got my first cat within months of moving out of my parents' home when I got married.

So sorry about the loss of your kitty. We had to put down our longest-lived cat last winter at age 19. Still miss her personality.
