Thank you so much for the kind words! I drew the snowflake design out on paper first and then practiced it a little on a scrap sandwich. On the wall hanging I just went slow and steady. I asked DH if he could tell what they were when I was through. He knew right away they were snowflakes but I wanted to make sure they looked like that to someone other than me. :)

As for the quilt pattern, I saw this in the Keepsake Quilting catalog. They wanted $80 for the kit and didn't offer just the pattern. It's a simple picture so I was able to draw it out on paper and make my own applique pattern. I later found just the pattern at a quilt shop in Arlington, TX (Lone Star House of Quilts, GREAT shop), but I was already done with this top by then. I can't remember now who the pattern is by though.
