Thank you everyone for comments - I am still busy chainpiecing all the triangles!
Izy & Elle, my hands problem is bizarre - every 10 days or so, one or a couple of fingertips & fingers swell and are so painful, sometimes my palms as well so badly I cant close my hands. It then disappears. I have had all the allergy tests going, including Lymes disease, all negative. Blood tests all normal. Have seen a consultant rheumatologist for tests & he doesnt know what the problem is. I am taking anti inflammatory tablets daily which help.
I am hoping it's a temporary thing, or my quilting days will be limited.
This quilt is going to be my first big free motion job - I have only dared tackle up to lap size so far.
No, Elle, not French fabric - it is from the Timeless Treasures "Fleur" collection, and I actually had this lot a couple of years back from Hancocks Paducah, USA. But I had to scour the web to get extra when I decided on pattern!

Hi Katrine, I hope you get relief soon, it is so debilitating to have something wrong with your hands especially. Good luck with the tests.

Will have to look at some timeless treasures.

Worryingly though Ruth this has happened when I havent touched the sewing for 6 weeks, so it's not the cause - and the flesh is dark red and very hot. They even tested for gout !!!! negative too. DH says I've always been a challenge!

First let me say how Pretty the colors are, then how much I love the pattern. I can't see anything wrong with them, but if you feel that strongly about it, I can pm you my address and I will force myself to use them ! LOL..

Secind, have they checked into your back and neck area for the pain in your hands ? I know I have a pinched nerve in my neck area and it affects my hands. It gets worse when I am sleeping, but after I am awaka and moving it gets better. Just a thought.

Keep up the good work ! I will keep my fingers crossed that they figure out what is wrong, I know how frustrating it can be. GOOD LUCK !
