The first came from an unfinished quilt I bought on Etsy. The owner had hand tied it but I really didn't like the poly wadding or the bottle green wool. I stripped it back and backed it with the same flannel I've used on an old fashioned teddy quilt which I've already had on here. The second I decided should be quite different from the other two so opted for a modern design to complement the crisp navy and white. The quilting is just regular grid. I wasn't too sure about the negative space in the middle but amn't competent enough to create a quilting masterpiece - ha ha I live in hope! The turquoise elephant was an option to fill the space but my youngest suggested I leave it blank and use the elephant for a cushion cover.

Beautiful....love the elephant quilt, it's really vibrant. I also like the zig zag stitching, for some bizarre reason I have never thought of using it in any of my quilts....Anyway, your daughter will love it, and so will the little one. Thanks for sharing and I hope you will have a reunion soon.
