Perfect pattern idea. I made a puff blanket from a minkie layer cake cut into 5" puff squares, based on a MSQC YouTube video. It was so heavy it ended up as a dog bed after all that work. Your pillow looks marvelous and practical.

I made a puff pillow and it's flattened out with use, so maybe it's better you used a lot of filling after all...

It looks beautiful, but I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to make those puffs with Minkie! I do like the "raggy" look, and I suppose the back side just has plain seams, so it would be nice to have the blanket be reversible.
