    I ran across this on Etsy and absolutely love it - especially if the center block had a fussy cut square :)

    Is this a log cabin?

    Looks to me like a variation of the log cabin.... Love this quilt! You are very lucky to have found it.

    That's a great block, but I need to see the back to see how it is constructed. Not a log cabin.

    I would say no also.

    Do you see how it is made? You assemble two strips with a shorter cross-strip at the end; make 4 of those. Then sew them on to the center square as if you were making a log-cabin. Only thing is you have one extra short seam to sew at the end.

    Clever. Think I will bookmark this one.

    Edit: Actually, you would have to sew each component to one side of the square first, then go around and finish the 4 seams. Still would be easy to do!

    I agree that it's not a log cabin. But it sounds like Prism99 has figured out how to make it. Maybe she will post a tutorial for the rest of us? Hint Hint!
