I am trying to finish this Lone Star for my Grandma for Christmas, and am stumped on quilting. I started trying all-over loops, but thought they were too close together so I ripped them out. Now I'm wondering if straight lines would be better? Maybe a combo of FMQ and straight lines? I'm probably way overthinking this!

Sorry for the wrinkles, the dog thinks it's for him. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful! I would probably do a flower, feather, or swirly pattern, but staright lines SID would be beautiful.

I would just do a meander stitch instead of SID. But, that's just me because I can't SID to save my life. :-)

Beautiful job!

Beautiful quilt-I love the colors. I've always seen these quilted in straight lines inside the diamonds and then I can't remember what's in the corners (senior, blonde moment LOL). Look on an Amish quilt website-beautiful Lone Stars there. Good luck.

I am currently working on a Bethlehem Star/Lone Star myself, and am planning on doing quilting in allover random large meandering loopy loops. I think with all the straight lines in the top, some curvy lines of quilting will look elegant.

I'll show you mine. I had it done by a local quilter. I think she did a beautiful job.

Thanks so much for the replies! I agree I think some curves of some kind will soften it up a bit. Anna - I love the loops in the middle and the feathers on the outside, so pretty! I think I will mix in some straight lines and some basic swirls or flowers like I saw in some of the Amish quilts. Thanks again!
