    Long-Term Project

Isn't this a boring block? Believe it or not it was made from a pack of charm squares. It was my first experience with pre-cuts way back around 2002. I was having trouble getting accurate cuts so when I saw the package of 5-inch squares I decided to give them a try. Strangely they were all plain and neutral fabrics. I've never seen a pack of charms like that before or since. After putting them together I knew they needed something but couldn't decide what.

(Continues below. I haven't figured out how to add text below my pics.)

Fast forward about 10 years and I came across a striped border print that looked perfect. So I used it for sashing and this is what I've come up with. It's coming along. Still need to add the outer sashing and find border fabric. Hope it doesn't take another 10 years to find that!

It is beautiful. Hurry and find a border for it. The sashing is perfect and really changes the look of it. Just keep going and it will be finished.

It is coming along great, and I think once you have it quilted (depending on patterns you choose) it will really pop.

You did a fine job of adding that extra something to make this lovely creation. Now that you are this far in the quilt I am sure the quilt will be finished in no time - I wonder what you will come up with next...it is like a mystery...can't wait for the next chapter. Please post it when you go to the next step.

The sashing makes the block!! With the different blues you should be able to find a lovely print for the border. I really like what you have done so far!
