I will never understand why Benjamin Franklin wanted to make the turkey the official bird of the United States... Sorry, but there's nothing cute about them - they're just ugly, dorky birds. I'm glad we went with the eagle.....just saying...

Oh, I love the turkeys. I've had them come to the kitchen window and look in as if to say..."well, are you coming out to feed me?" I've also had some that come to the door and peck on the sliding glass door.....
Great picture.

Hey Cathy. Noticed where you are from. I'm in Parke County near Bridgeton. My brother lives in Williamsport, just down the highway from you. I've never seen your location on the board before. Just thought I's say hello from a fellow Hoosier from this part of the state. We should plan a meet and greet for members in this part of the state.

This is crazy, it is the same thing I saw in my back yard, 2 mornings in a row. This last spring, we had 3 hens with chicks wondering around our back yard.

We get herds of wild turkeys on our property! They like to eat the cat food we leave out for our outside cat. They're having babies now and the baby turkeys are really cute.
