Ok, this beats 'em all! My daughter recieved a squishie in the mail today from Gwyn. She made the most beautiful doll quilt and doll for her - with a Halloween theme. She was thrilled beyond words. She sat down and wrote a nice thank you note (Gwyn, you'll get that via snail mail!) and will not let any of us near her new quilt!!

What a sweetie you are to do that for her!!

What else was really cool is I can see how she appreciates the details. She was pointing out all the stitching, the buttons and the maples leaves. Gwynn, she wanted to know if you were Canadian! ha, she's a hockey fan, you see!!

anyhow, she also noticed that you did not attach a label so you can get credit for it!! Would you mind if I made one to put on it? I just don't want it to get into a museum someday and credit to the artist left off!! :-) :-)

Aww Gwyn what a sweet thing to do. Sophia looks 'chuffed to bits' as we say in Britland! :D How cute that she was picking out the details but then, her mentor is an outstanding quilter! :D

It was so sweet, she went to bed with her new doll and DQ last night. She had the doll cuddled under her right arm, with the quilt on top of her. she said it's her favorite doll because a special lady made it for her!! How cute...sometimes she's so grown up and other times, she turns into a little girl again. She's going thru those hormonal rages of puberty and has had some pretty intense moments! Anyway, this is such a lovely gift she recieved - I may try to take some closeups. There are maple leaves, buttons and fabulous stitching throughout the quilt and doll. Her face is embroidered and just lovely.

    Thanks again Gwyn!!

What a wonderfully sweet thing to do! How touching. That mini is sooo cute. Could you do a pic closer up?

This truly is the best group of people I have ever come across.

If I remember the picture of you Esqmommy, your daughter looks an awful lot like you!

Yes, she looks more like me than her daddy...only she got the "pretty" gene. She's blond/blue eyed and I'm a dark eyed/hair person. She's starting to go into the gawky stage, but she has always been a very pretty girl. I love looking at her when she's being sweet!!

here's a photo from her quilt camp this summer...you can see we are similar and she'd no doubt my daughter...
