My sister has those colors in her kitchen/den area and I always thought is was so nice. Seeing your wonderful placemats made me see that I was correct. Very pretty.

I love the "placematter" idea you came up with. I'm a "placematter" too. I made 8 of them for gifts. They were a stitch-as-you-go pattern. Used Fall fabrics on one side and fruit or vegie prints on the other. Easy to do and didn't use much fabric since the strips were 3 1/2" wide X 12". i used different decorative stitches in each strip. I had to try out my new machine to see what it could do.
