This looks great. I am working on a log cabin now and find that to keep to strips where this particular pattern requires them, I have to turn the block to the right side for every strip, arrange the newest strip in place, turn everything over, and then finally sew on the strip. Only takes a few seconds more, but that is much better than pulling out stitching errors.

To me, in most you see done, the light and darks coming together create a zig-zag. I lost that look. With this one the gold and the star seem to make one block.

I love it! And I think the border print is lovely. I'm glad you went against the store's advice. ;)

The border is perfect with the rest of the fabrics you used.

Beautiful quilt, I don't see anything that looks backwards. No one will know unless you tell them and I'm sure noone on this board will tell.

Looks great!! It is your own creation. Who says it is "wrong" if that is the way you wanted to be.

I love it. I didn't think there was any right or wrong with log cabins. They can be put together anyway you like.

Ah! But there are so many different layouts for log cabin - that's part of its charm! My second quilt was a LC for my middlest - we had great fun laying out the blocks different ways and picking our favourite.
