You must sit all day and do these....I must have ADD.....I can only do hexies for 1-2 hrs, then I have to get up and do something else!!!!!

Lynne, what kind of thread are you using to sew them together....I have tried almost everything and still get shredding a lot........I think that's why I cannot do for a long stretch...too frustrated worrying about thread shredding.....

That is the most vibrant hexie quilt I have seen. NO white, just pure glorious color. Love it. OOps, there are a very few whites there, but very minimal, I refuse to see them.

the quilt is planned to be for a queen. I may stop at the 60x80 and add borders, don't know yet. still have some summer left without the car. My son is getting his CDl, so he's using my car.

I use serger thread or cheap stuff to baste the papers (junkmail, manila folders, and paper plates) to the fabrics.
I sew them with Gutermann thread to hand sew with approx. 20 stitches per side of the hex. About 18=20" of thread, and when I have a problem, I beeswax the thread. it doesn't break b/c it is shorter in length. If you do it, have fun.

PaperPieces.com will send you free sample kits if you're not sure if you want to do this. I'd get about 3-4 kits to attach them together and see how you like them.WARNING: it is addictive. Charisma has my triads, waiting for her to quilt them. will show it when it's done.
