Did you just sew the handle to the basket, or is there some other way to attach it in the construction process?
Yes, I sewed the handle to the basket. (I also sewed everything else in place as well...did not use glue or hot glue). It requires a pretty sturdy needle. Also I discovered it's much, much easier sewing through the seams of the cords or at least at their edge than to try to go through several layers of cords. I looked down at one point and my hands were all bloodied! Must have been trying too hard to push the needle through. Once I figured out how to find the seams...there wasn't any additional problem.

It's a little tedious (though not difficult at all) but the end result is so cute I'm thinking I may have just stumbled onto what I'm going to make for Christmas for some of my friends. What do you think...would baskets like this make nice gifts? blessings, Karen

I love the way your jazzed it up with beads and double handles. Great job. You should be proud to give a basket like that as a gift, it is beautiful.
