MaiaB sent me this wall hanging....It is so pretty all batiks and I wanted to use many textures in my quilting because there are many different textured fabrics.
I used a gray thread and pebbled, outlined, ferns, charisma curls...and loops...just a few.

I think it turned out so beautiful...

    Maia sent wool batting.

I quilted this on my INNOVA. All freehand...no pantograph or computer quilting.

    Thanks for looking!

I'm just stunned! This is beyond fabulous. The ferns are so perfect. I never knew how to quilt it, which is why I never did. I'm so glad, because what you've done with it is just spectacular. I just got home from a sewing expo to see this. I'm just THRILLED! . My boys said whatever I paid isn't enough, and they are so right. "Whoa!" & "Awesome!" were the quotes. I was so excited about this and Charisma does NOT disappoint! Her artistic talent is clearly God-given. I'm trying to zoom in on my iPhone and it's just getting blurry, so I can barely wait to get it to see even more. I feel so inpired to just keep making tops, knowing that if I can't quilt them the way I want, Charisma can. Wow! I'll stop gushing now...I'm one happy quilt top maker and new owner of an original Charisma. Woohoo! Praise God!

Very nice piece of work. I love how the individual squares are "framed". Good job both of you.

So just some info: it's 40" x 40" and I made the top around 1995-1997 from some samples of hand-dye fabric (the tiny sqares) and batiks. It was just something to do for play/practice. I could never figure out how to quilt it (by hand). I would periodically drag it out, realize I was still stumped, and put it away. I'd never sent something to a longarm quilter before, but when I saw Charisma's amazing work, I thought she might be able to make something out of this troubled top. I never expected this excellent result! Far exceeds anything I could imagine for it let alone do myself. Uh, I will be sending more her way, for sure!
