Maiden voyage!

As I was folding the quilt to put it with his going home bag he put his head on it and said, "Love my monkeys!" Then when he got home he didn't want to take a nap without them - and his toddler bed is still in the garage waiting for them to put up his crib! For this beginner quilter this is what it's all about. My skill level matches the blind eye the recepients will use to look at my treasures. Knowing that my loving hands had touched every inch of that quilt - many times - just does something for me. The pouring of ME into that fabric turned my lowly offering into something wonderful. The binding is an absolute mess - but on there very securely! I wish I'd used deeper seams and hope, hope, hope it won't pull apart when it's washed, but ... Grammy Love is all over that thing!
Thanks for sharing in my first step into this world.

Bev - I told Mama Monkey to wash in cold and hang to dry. AND to bring it back for any restitching that's needed! By the time this one wears out - and he's outgrown the monkey stage - I should be skilled enough to make one that won't need delicate care! I'm starting a Warm Wishes pattern for his cousin - with cottons, not flannels, and more skills from the get-go.
