Been playing around with this fun technique I learnt from Karen Eckmeier's book, Layered Waves.

Superb book, techniques and inspirations galore. I'm finding the layered waves incredibly fun and freeing. No drawing, measuring, accurate curve piecing - just cutting freehand and topstitching layers.

This piece is a bit over a FQ size right now. I'm not so into wallhangings, so I'm debating whether to make a larger one, or maybe turn this into a medallion with lots and lots of borders...

Could leave it as is.... could cut it into strips and shuffle them up for a fractured look... could cut it into blocks for 9P... ah infinity!!! Of course only until I start cutting this up.  The torment. Thanks for taking a look, and reading me ramble!

Layered waves...

Wow, that is really unique. I don't think I could cut into it.

Please share the final project. Whatever you decide it will definitely be very pretty and unusual.

If you made several, you could treat each of them like a large block and sew them together (with the stripes going in alternate directions) for a quilt top. Love the colours.
