    I made a crazy quilt from my Dad's ties. Backed it with a very fine pinwale corduroy and tied it. It is pretty. Before starting the quilt, I took the ties apart, took out lining, saved the labels for use later. Then I used "shout" to spray on the dirty spots on the ties and then washed them on gentle cycle in the washing machine in a mesh bag. Those that didn't turn out well were discarded. Then I dried them in dryer. Then I ironed them and sorted by colors. I used the linings to stuff dog beds that I made for my 3 poodles.
