I did a quick search, but did not look at this, I am guessing it is fine. A bias tape tool is handy, but Not necessary. Basically you cut your fabric at a true 45 degree angle, fold in the edges and press.

If you have the 1/2 inch steam a seam, it sure makes it easier, but small dots of Elmer's glue will do the trick. I live in the boonies and try to use what I have on hand. 50 miles to JoAnn's

Satin stitch could be wide at the base and narrow down as you reach the tips.

I like that idea! I think it would look just fine, and it would add some interest to it, too!! :thumbup:

I've seen it done that way, do one square with the embroidery and one the way it is shown and decide which you like better.

I've done it the way it's done on quilter's cache. I don't see a problem with the satin stitch, but it seems like it would take longer.
