    Mariner's Star - finished handquilting & binding

Seemed like many people liked my Mariner's Star wallhanging when I posted it a few weeks back when I finished piecing it. Well, I finished handquilting & binding it, and figured I'd share a picture of what it looks like finished. It's amazing to me how quilting totally changes the 'feel' of the quilt. I thoroughly enjoy the process of handquilting, and this is the first time I tried feathers. I'm kinda sad, in a way, because now I need to piece something else so I have a small project to take to the kids 'functions'.

Hope you are all having a great day.

beautiful! I love handquilting too! After I finished my last quilt, it felt so strange not to have another project to work on. Now I have large one for home and working on two doll quilts I can take with me. Your wall hanging is very lovely!

Ooooooohhh I love it! Beautiful everything, quilting, piecing and choice of colors. Love the chartreuse and purple. Hand quilting just tops the cake. Nothing like hand quilting.

Great job, I haven't tried hand quilting yet but after seeing yours, I think I will give it a go on my next hand pieced project.
