Here's a trick for getting over the thicker seams. I just fold a pice of scrap fabrick until it is as thick and the seam and put it behind the presser foot to make it even with the thickness and it goes right over and will sew it. Works for me and by the way, your quilt is so pretty, I bet your swish bargello would win for sure. My machine is very similar to yours and they are so light weight and not really for heavey duty sewing, but there are ways to work around that. I quilted my lone star on mine. Huggies, Fay

Yes, there are 3 challenge rounds. The first 2 challenges are for quilt tops only. The 3rd challenge, you have to quilt it and finish it completely. The schedule for the challenges are on McCall's Quilting too. Here's a break down of it.

Make quilt and Submit Public Voting

Challenge Round #1
Aug 9 -- Sept 13 Sept 16 -- Oct 4

Challenge Round #2
Oct 9 -- Nov 8 Nov 11 -- Nov 24

Challenge Round #3
Nov 30 -- Dec 27 Jan 7 -- Feb 1

Hi there! Actually, they are all either marbled fabrics or like a light and a dark in the same color. Like dark orange on a lighter orange or a dark green with lighter green. I had sooo many beautiful prints but I wanted the stars to be all one color. I think it turned out really pretty. Thanks for asking and for looking.
