    Memorial Necktie Quilt

After I offered to make a quilt for my dear friend Jane, I went to QB for advice. I used the Darlene Zimmerman Dresden template. Opened each tie, cut into 18" blades, etc. This was a slippery challenge even with iron on interfacing. The beautiful quilting by Sue Baddley elevates the whole piece. So here is The Great Mann Quilt in honor of Bernie Mann.

Saw something like this at a small show in Big Stone Gap, VA. They used the points of ties as "prairie points" around the edges of the quilt.
