    Memory Quilt

This is a picture of a memory quilt that I made for a family that was expecting a baby. The grandmother passed away before the baby was born. The baby quilt is made from the grandmother's clothing..

Please be sure to put the story of the quilt on a label attached to the quilt....It is a beautiful quilt made for beautiful reasons - and should it happen to pass outside the family (heaven forbid) - future quilt lovers need to see the story.

What a great idea. It will be a treasured keepsake! My brother passed away a year ago May and I'm currently making two lap quilts for my sister-in-law from his jeans and shirts. He passed before their first grandchild was born so I'm sneaking in a third quilt for the grandson of Grand Pop's shirts and jeans. I've not yet told her that I'm including this in her package. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

The grandmother loved the great outdoors. She was a turkey hunter, and a turkey is included in the aplique..
