Oh, absolutely you guys can borrow this idea! Here are the poems I put in there if you need those, too. I am glad you guys like it. I think the couple will, too. (The bride is my cousin.) I know my aunt is going to love it- she is very creative.

Don't be too critical of my poem's cadence- it was done pretty quickly! LOL!

For the bowls (I looked but couldn't find one red and one green, so had to settle for two red ones):

One dish, two dish, red dish, RED dish
One is for popcorn and one is for candy.
If you share with each other, well, that would be dandy!

    For the movie:

Every year when you put up your tree
Sit on the couch and watch this movie.
This cartoon is old, but you’ll like it I bet
For it’s all about love and not gifts that you get.

    For the quilt:

A blanket is next in this box of tradition.
Lots of bright colors make it happy and fun.
I sewed this up with you in mind
With the cheeriest colors I could find!

    For the photo album:

Here is a book for pictures and notes
To keep with your tree and ornament totes.
When you put a photo inside of this book,
Write something next to the picture you took.

A sentence will fit, maybe three or four
To say what’s happened in the year before.
There’s room for a photo of your family
All standing and smiling in front of the tree.

Look at the pictures from seasons before,
Each year you’ll find that you change more and more.
The years will fly by and you both will grow old-
If you fill up this book you’ll have memories to hold.

Lisa: I love your quilt and especially the idea of making Christmas quilts for wedding gifts. Your quilting is beautiful. Can I ask what type of thread you used for your quilting. In some of the pictures it looks sparkly (or is that just the photo?) Great job. Thanks for sharing the pictures and the concept behind your neat gift.

janRN- I just used the plain old white all purpose Coats and Clark. (From Walmart.) I don't know how it looks so sparkly in that picture, but it is pretty like that! Maybe I should look for some sparkly thread...? (How great ideas are born!)

It is so fun to make a special quilt for a special person or persons. I usually machine quilt my gifts because I don't know how they will be cared for in the future. Most non quilters don't realize what kind of work goes into a quilt. As for the last minute binding. Been there done that many, many times. I love the special stitches on all of my Berninas. Use them constantly even to dress up T Shirts etc.
    Your work is lovely.
