Using the blue/yellow fabric that KathyAire gave to me, here is my Michigan Star. This is one of Carol Doak's patterns from her 50 Fabulous PP Stars book.

It's the Michigan star from Carol Doak's book. She created one for each state. I did this one in yellow and blues to signify the Wolverines (even though the colors are not as dark).

Wow, that is beautiful. I love blue and white together and the yellow is the perfect touch. Great job and thanks for sharing.

Wow, that's great! I was also unaware that there was a Michigan star. You even used U of M colors (Maize & Blue) (sorry MSU)

You got it!! lol I know the colors are quite light for U of M, but it works.

My points aren't perfect, but they're better than when I tried the PA block, which I won't share. lol

The star looks wonderful. How big is it? You sure did do that fast. There are so many pieces to it. You did a great job.

I had it all cut out yesterday, then spent about 2 hours on it this morning. It's a 12" x 12" square.

Your fabric choices are great together. That looks like a difficult pattern. You did really well on that block.

That's beautiful. I'm not a "blue" person, but the combination of blue and yellow draws me in every time.

Looks great nice job paper-piecing. Don't you just love Carol Doak's blocks? I was born in Michigan and this would be a great block to do and send to my cousin. I even have the book and do believe that I bookmarked the page that has this block. Have thought about doing a quilt that has the blocks of all of the states in which I have lived - and since I have lived in 13 states, I could put a large Michigan block in as a medallion

Wow, those pieces look tiny. You did a great job and it is beautiful. I can't imagine doing a whole quilt but a wallhanging might be managable. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
