I like the ideal of 3 different sizes of bowls. I would like to offer a tip for making the bowl a little more sturdy and will help hold the shape after many washings.

Use a cup or some round object and make a paper template. pin it to the bottom of the bowl and(use as a guide) sew around it. Then move out or inside that circle and sew another round. Really gives the bowl body.

I must have been dozing when these were discussed.......my question...are these, like potato bakers susceptible to self combust? Or do you put the bowl in these after removing from micro....are they hard sided? Where to keep them when not in use......just musing.......

If you use only 100% cotton for fabric, batting and thread, there should be no problem. None have been reported by those I've made them for and they've been in use quite a bit.

There are a number of free patterns on the internet. The one I use is called "bowl cozy" by Phoebe Moon. You can find the download on her free pattern page.
