MiMi my Featherweight
#1
I am the happy owner of MiMi, a 1956 featherwreight. Two weeks ago DH found her at the Knoxville Quilt Show and couldn't resist he surprised me with her. MiMi and I share the same birth year. He has been looking to buy one for me for several years, but had never found one born in 1956 and working until now.
She is in perfect condition and sews like a dream.
She is named after my faternal grandmother, MiMi, she was a grand lady and I loved her very much. She is the only member of my family (on both sides) that had ever sewed, she never quilted, she made me a cute jumper when I was 2, I don't know where my mom put the jumper but I have the picture of me in it, it is priceless to me. By the time I was old enough to sew she was too old to teach me. I taught myself and never looked back. I believe I got my love of sewing and quilting from her. MiMi Featherweight is a tribute to her.

What a georgous machine and I know you will enjoy sewing on MiMi. I like how you named her after your grandmother. When I get one I am going to name it after my mother and grandmother who instilled in me the love of sewing.
