Default Minky George the Giraffe

Finished this one for another grandbaby. This one gave me major headaches with thread breaking and fabric sliding all over. No idea why, as the other one was total minky too and i didnt' have these problems. perhaps it was the different brand of basting spray that was giving me the thread breakage and skipping stitches.

Way too cute! Do you have patterns for your wildlife or are they your own design? Is the minky animal attached to a cotton background or is the background all minky too? Nice job!

George is gorgeous! And the border fabric is perfect with the colors and animals! When you say all minky, front and back too?

Oh .....and that one is adorable too.

RE: skipped stitches...have you checked your bobbin case?? Minky and other fabrics like it can clog all around the case in a NY minute.......that's what happened to me.

It was a kit from Shannon Fabrics (and they sure don't give you any extra material!) And yes, the entire thing is minky except for the batting. You do all the cutting, etc...they just give you the material - and I was measuring and remeasuring because I knew there was absolutely NO room for errors in cutting. Directions say to use fusible applique, but I ended up using spray basting, as the fusible stuff didn't want to stick to other minky.
