the mistakes I've made

Oh my, you've made 'mistakes'? I call it creative license. Who knows, leaving the selvage showing on a quilt may just become the new 'in' thing and then you'll be sorry you did not patent the idea.
For myself, there are no mistakes--just a new interpretation of a pattern. (But I HAVE basted a quilt to the rug)

We all make them - however-they can be fixed! Find yourself an ink pen like in Michaels or an art store and match the color you need. Be sure to touch it very lightly to see how much the ink runs . Actually, gel pens are best. After fixing it, set the color with a hot iron. Be sure to put a piece of tissue or fabric on top so you don't burn the fabric. You might try it out on a trial piece first. I have done this multiple times and it works! Washes ok, too.

Post a pic of your quilt so we can ooh and ah at it!
I've made plenty of mistakes and here is two to prove it. See how easy they are to find. The date on this quilt is 2008 and it is still waiting to be quilted. I have about twentyfive waiting!
