Here are two more antique quilts that Mom has that my grandmother made. The green and yellow sunflower one is my favorite.

Those sure do bring back memories! My grandmother made similar ones...same green and yellow combination even.

Maybe our grannies were using the same patterns from a magazine or newspaper. I'm not sure if my grandmother used patterns or just did her own thing. I wish I had paid more attention to that, but we only visited a couple times a year and I was more interested in playing with the cousins.... chasing chickens, fishing in the pond, skipping rocks, shooting BB guns, outrunning the bull.... than looking at a closet and trunk full of quilts. If only I had known then what I know now.

stunning !!!
when i bought my featherweight it came with a pattern marked 1939. i am going to make it and see what it becomes..
can you suggest fabrics? i am clueless
