Hi there, yes it's applique. I use bias binding and sewing the coloured section in as I applique the binding on. Regards

Hi there, the ones I am doing just now are from a book called "Celtic Designs II" Children of Lir, by Philomena Durcan. It has a lot of designs in it that are inspiring. Other than that I look on the internet for some other designs. I will have a look for the book you have mentioned. I have done a few now, and enjoy doing them. Hope you manage to do some more, and perhaps you can post some pictures of them.
